Programme Objectives
To impart education and training in Diploma in Mechanical Engineering as per curriculum framed by State Board of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, and Chennai and to develop diploma Engineers and technicians in diversified areas of Mechanical Engineering field.
To improve employability of our students by various continuing education programmes
To impart training in driving Light Motor Vehicles and provide guidance to obtain driving Licenses.
To provide career guidance on employment and higher education opportunities like B.E., degree courses and post diploma courses.

The passed out students have lot of opportunities as technician supervisors and junior engineers in the vast areas of Mechanical Engineering field both in India and Abroad.

Some of our passed out students are occupying high positions as employers in leading companies in India and abroad.
Some of our old students have started their own companies in service and manufacturing sector and are also providing employment to our students.
Further Education
A diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering can join B.E. in lateral entry and complete the course in three years.

Profile of the Department
The department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1980, right from the starting of the institution in 1980, with an annual intake of 60 students. The programme in Diploma in Mechanical Engineering was first approved in 1982 by AICTE and affiliated to State Board of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, and Chennai. This programme in Diploma in Mechanical Engineering was also accredited by National Board of Accreditation., AICTE, and New Delhi. This department has highly qualified and well experienced (more than 25years) faculties. It has very good infrastructure facilities to meet the requirements to train students in Mechanical Engineering as prescribed in the curriculum developed by work ethics and disciplined work culture so as to meet the requirements of modern industries. Industrial visits are arranged at appropriate timings. In addition, various value added continuing education courses, seminars and entrepreneurial development programs are also being conducted.
